This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains the wider picture of how we handle your personal data.
What this policy covers
Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website or app. The same rules — under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) — also apply to other ways of storing or reading information on your device, such as your browser's local storage. This policy covers both, across our two surfaces:
- our marketing website at skinsafe.pro; and
- our platform at app.skinsafe.pro (the SkinSafe application you log in to).
1. The marketing website (skinsafe.pro)
Our marketing website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no tracking and no third-party embeds, and all of its content is hosted by us. Because it places nothing on your device, there is nothing for you to consent to — which is why you will never see a cookie banner on it.
If we ever needed to set something that is strictly necessary to make the site work, PECR allows that without consent under its strictly-necessary exemption, and we would describe it here first. We would not add analytics, advertising or tracking cookies without asking for your consent and updating this policy.
2. The platform (app.skinsafe.pro)
When you log in to the platform, we use only the cookies and on-device storage that are essential to provide the service you have asked for — keeping you logged in, protecting your session, and remembering a display choice you make yourself. These are all first-party (set by us). None of them is used for analytics, advertising, tracking or profiling. This is consistent with our Privacy Policy, which states that we use essential cookies only.
In plain terms, the platform uses:
- a session cookie, to keep you securely logged in while you use the platform;
- a security token (to protect against cross-site request forgery);
- an authentication cookie, if you choose "remember me", so you do not have to log in every time; and
- a display preference, stored in your browser's local storage, to remember your light or dark theme choice.
Each of these is either strictly necessary to deliver the service you have requested, or simply records a choice you have made yourself on your own device. For that reason, PECR does not require us to ask for your consent — so, again, there is no banner.
The platform uses essential cookies only; a detailed inventory is available on request and will be published here following verification.
If you block cookies and on-device storage
- On the platform: blocking these will break core functions. You will not be able to log in or stay logged in, and security checks may fail. The platform cannot work without them.
- On the marketing website: nothing changes — it sets nothing, so blocking has no effect.
You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser's settings.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our service or the law changes. We publish any update here and, if the change is material, tell you through the platform. A version history is kept below.
